Super Bowl Ads

This past Sunday was the biggest game of the year in American football-- the Super Bowl! Known colloquially as Super Bowl Sunday, it is an American tradition to watch this game. It doesn't matter if you don't care about the teams or even don't care about football; if you're not watching because of the game, you're probably watching for the halftime show (always a famous band, this year it was the Black Eyed Peas) or the commercials. This year, a new record was set (again) with 111 million people tuning in of the USA's population of 300 million.

Because the Super Bowl is the most watched TV event in the USA, the commercials, which play during the breaks in play (2-3 might air roughly every 10 minutes), are incredibly expensive and usually very well done. Companies spend millions of dollars on just a few minutes of advertising, so it is important that they get their message across quickly.

Here's the YouTube channel with all the ads from this year's Super Bowl. As you can see, it's usually dominated by beer and car ads. My favorites this year are probably "Volkswagen- The Force" and "Chrysler Eminem". Enjoy!
